Chest infection

So yesterday morning I thought I was getting over the flu.  After a walk to the shops and back I wasn't so sure, honestly only about a mile round trip but I was so out of breath and then in the evening was unable to get off the couch at all.

I went to the doctors this morning to be told "this is proper flu" and then after he listen to my chest "Hmm - bad chest infection".   So I'm on antibiotics and signed off work until the 12th!

I haven't been this ill in ages.  I hope it will now start to get better - also I need to learn to give it time and not rush it like I did yesterday.

  1. Be well my friend. Take care of yourself. We'll still be here when you come back.

  2. Oh no! Hope you're on the road to recovery and definitely take it easy and rest. Feel better soon.

  3. Oh, sounds horrible - you have my sympathy. Lots of sleep, stock up on the Lemsips and get better soon. At least with being officially signed off work you can rest guilt-free - so take it easy!

  4. That should be the name of your new band. Chest Infection.

Did you see Alex Lifeson's acceptance speech at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony? Good lord. Comes in at around the 4:50 mark. So appropriate after an evening of pontificating and speeches.

  5. Oddly enough, I just went through this myself. The pills (antibiotics) I was prescribed were HUGE...like they'd confused me with a thoroughbred. However, they're clearing it up nicely, and I'm sure you'll too be on the mend soon.

  6. Ouch! In these parts, we call a chest infection "Pneumonia" and it's very serious! Hoping that by the time you read this that the antibiotics are starting to do their their magic and you're starting to feel human again! Take care!

    1. Don't think it is in the "Pneumonia" category just yet but have to say it is taking a while to feel better.

  8. Oh poor you. I apologise most humbly for mocking you, and hope that you soon are returned to your normal healthy self. x

    1. Liz - don't apologise - I was being self mocking expecting the "man-flu" to pass in a day or so - how wrong I was. And that has taught me a lesson!

  9. Oh no... keep it in Kent if you can!

(This is a bit ominous actually--you're the second person this week I've heard who's gone down with it).
