My Peter Cook 6 string

I posted these photos on a vintage guitar forum... thought I'd stick em up here too...

It has an active preamp in it - more similar to that used in basses. One knob is overall volume, then a freq knob to pick a freq to boost/cut and then a boost control. The switches are some funny phase switch (never use it) and the preamp on off (I never have it off!). Powered by 2 9 volts under the smaller cover on the back.

It is same scale length as a Strat, Strat hardtail bridge Mighty Mite I believe. A forearm contour but no back contour. Mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard 12" radius with jumboish frets. Nut the brass nut - very late 70s/early 80s! Must be over thirty years old now and I've owned it well over 20. I should use it more but the preamp controls aren't the easiest to get on with - i.e. it is easy to quickly screw it all up!!

  1. That's a beaut - any sound sample of it (youtube clips etc...)

PS have you thought of doing guitar lessons while you're job hunting?

  2. @mondo - thinking about some sound clips, might do a series to show sounds of various guitars in the collection etc.

Re guitar lessons - have thought about it but lot of competition around our area and lack of my confidence - nothing new there then!

  3. I’m with you there. I never have it off either.
    Interesting post. Thanks.

    All the best, Boonie

  4. That's highly technical language... I think I know there is something called a "fret board"... am I right?

    Thanks for all the comments.

I am absolutely determined to fail and not take anything one day at a time. That way I might have huge success!!

I wish it was Monday Tuesday or Wednesday. I go to NA meetings then (but not as often as I should).

Something tells me NA is the way. If those people can do it, so can I. + I've noticed NA seems to work best for those whose problems are worst, it's highly structured and those steps mean no backsliding or excuses. Whoever invented it (wasn't it originally druggies who came to AA because it was all there was?)... well whoever/however, it's genius.

I can vouch that. I've been long enough to SEE it work on other people.
